RCN & Associates Ltd – Warranty
RCN & Associates Ltd warrants for a period of 30 days “Return to Base” from the date the equipment is invoiced to you that the equipment and its components (except for batteries) will be free from any material defect in material or workmanship.
BATTERIES THAT ACCOMPANY A COMPUTER ARE SOLD “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
If the equipment fails because of a defect in material or workmanship and you notify RCN & Associates Ltd of the failure during the warranty period, RCN & Associates Ltd will repair the equipment at no cost to you.
If the equipment cannot be repaired in a cost-effective manner, as determined by RCN & Associates Ltd, then RCN & Associates Ltd will replace the equipment with a substantially comparable item of equipment.
If no comparable equipment is available, RCN & Associates Ltd will refund the full purchase price.
If you refuse RCN & Associates Ltd’s offer to repair or replace the equipment, you will receive a refund of the purchase price less a 15% handling charge.
In order for this warranty to apply, you must contact RCN & Associates Ltd and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA number). It is your organisation’s responsibility to ensure that a receipt from the carrier picking up the equipment is obtained.
If the returned equipment is defective, RCN & Associates Ltd will pay the cost of shipping.
If the equipment is not defective, or is subject to the following paragraph, you must pay the cost of shipping.
This warranty does not apply to any failure caused by:
(i) physical abuse of the equipment or any component including, but not limited to, any act of vandalism by any person other than RCN & Associates Ltd, it’s employees, agents, or subcontractors,
(ii) Any alteration, modification, addition, or repair made during the warranty period by anyone other than RCN & Associates Ltd, it’s employees, agents, or subcontractors
(iii) any accident or damage resulting from fire, water, wind, hail, lightning, earthquake, theft, nuclear reaction, or similar cause originating outside the components of the equipment and not within the control of RCN & Associates Ltd or caused or contributed to by the negligence of RCN & Associates Ltd or its employees, agents, or subcontractors, or
(iv) Damage to any component as a result of improper handling or shipment of the component by you or your employees, agents, or subcontractors.
If RCN & Associates Ltd determines that the equipment is not defective or that the failure arises from one of the causes identified in this paragraph, in addition to all shipping costs, you will be charged and must pay a testing fee of $45.00 per hour.
This warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy that you have against RCN & Associates Ltd.
This exclusive remedy will not have failed its essential purpose as long as RCN & Associates Ltd is willing and able to repair or replace the defective parts or refund the purchase price.
RCN & Associates Ltd’s maximum liability for a breach of this warranty is the purchase price of the equipment. This is your sole remedy and is in lieu of any other warranty, express or implied.
RCN & Associates Ltd expressly disclaims any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. RCN & Associates Ltd is not liable for any lost profit, or indirect, special or consequential damages arising out of any breach of this warranty.

An Extended Warranty is available for purchase at $15 per month for an additional 2 months. If you return equipment that you do not want that is not defective, you will be charged and must pay a restocking fee of 25% of your purchase price of the equipment.
